A small sketch I did based on one of the photos I took recently near Enoshima (you can see the Enoshima island in the back).
I did the first version of this painting to test a new sketchbook and new, small set of Holbein watercolors I’m getting ready for outside sketching. I did this picture in about 1,5 hours during an YouTube live stream.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIahpgHYdKQ
I later redid the painting (I did not like the first version - it was too dark and heavy) in a little bit bigger sketchbook to try to capture the atmosphere better.

“Beautiful Disasters” at Tales of Art Gallery.
Opening on June 9th, 2018 at Tales of Art Gallery in Imola, Italy is the two person exhibition entitled “Beautiful Disasters,” featuring work by artists Jose Luis Ceña Ruiz and Ioan-Ștefan Botiș curated by Sasha Bogojev.
Whereas Ceña Ruiz’s painting are harmonious depictions of peace and nature, Botiș’s portrays mayhem and disaster. Much like the mixture of sweetness and salt, these two artist’s work magically aligns to create a glorious visual combination in “Beautiful Disasters.”
The exhibition will be on view until July 22nd, 2018. If you’re in the area definitely stop by.
